Thanks much to Bookworm for posting about and linking to this blog -- it's an honor!
Since there's a lot of blather here, I thought I'd call out some defining posts for anyone looking to see where I stand on politics and the like (these will probably become a sidebar box shortly):
The Death of a Liberal -- how 9/11 and John Kerry changed me
Two Guns and Three Circumstances -- the reason for my mixed feelings on guns
Is it getting warm in here? -- my environmental heresy
The About page -- actual content!
Agree or disagree, feel free to stick around and argue with me...
Hi! I'm here via Bookworm. I'm enjoying it over here. Plan to stop back by again.

I've got to say, reading the full Lincoln quote on "Better Angels" took me right back to the movie "American History X" which for all its flaws simply blew me away with its power. I hated the voiceovers that were forced on the director, but the voiceover at the end wherein Lincoln's quote was simply stated in full, followed by the sunset on the beach scene simply fading to black, was pitch perfect to me. Great quote, and great blog you have here!

I avoided American History X, not really knowing anything about it except that apparently there was messiness on the set (the star taking over or some such) and the unappetizing aspect of skinheads or some such.
However, I've heard it referred to often enough that I think I'll add it to my Netflix queue...
